A few pictures from the vintage section

I wanted to share few pictures with all of you. As many of you know, I am a huge fan of vintage trailers. I cannot help but shoot tons of photos when I see vintage trailers. I had stated in my last post that our group was sent to another area than where the rest of the Vintage Airstream Club was parked. We were told that there was just not enough parking for us. So, for your viewing pleasure, here are some that there was room for....

I think this is a sweet 1948 Class "B". The person using it has not been around all week.

Most folks do not realize it, but in 1960 Airstream built this slide out. The dual axle option was was a custom feature though.

Another 1960, but this one has the special triple axle version.

Oh, yes happy days here in in Wisconsin.

Good stuff, Frankie boy! Hopefully there are some flamingo feathers being ruffled by your candid comments...

Frank, sorry to hear the International is such a disappointment. I thought you and the folks from your unit would be getting first class treatment with all you do for the Airstreaming community. At least you have accomplished some helpful reseach for those of us still on the fence about whether to join. And here I thought Wyoming could be a nice trip next year.

Hey, I think I saw one of those old-school 1958 Design Within Reach Bambis amongst your vintage photos. I've always wanted one of those...

That's really a shame, Frank.

So, you guys organize a Caravan, like Wally woulda done, get parked on the pavement, and all to make room for those things? Somebody there is missing the point.

Hi Frank! We really enjoyed meeting you and spending time with you at International! Unfortunately, we felt frustrated too with the parking situation there, especially when the newer ones were mixed into the grass with the older ones, making "true" vintage trailers park on the black top by themselves. I sat for the 4hour open house without many visitors, because they couldn't see that we were off to the right (away from even your more visable row). Other than wanting to be judged, I felt it a waste of my time and money to make the effort to bring in 2 vintage trailers for this event! In fact, we drove both trailers right by the Madison sight to get to Jefferson, so we might be able to park them in the same area! Do you feel that leaving the VAC will really change it? I think we need to stay with it and give more opinions! Things won't change without us! Anyway...I will certainly be thinking twice before paying my dues again. We've always been on the edge with it anyway with so many dues for this club! Sorry it didn't turn out better.
